To culminate Castle x Hatfield Day, both colleges are attending a formal dinner on Saturday, 3rd May which this year will be held at Hatfield College. Each sport and society involved in the event has been allocated tickets, please contact your President if you are unsure whether you have been invited.
The formal begins at 7pm, aim to arrive at the bar by 6.30pm. Wine is available to purchase before the dinner beigns. You may not bring your own alcohol to the event. The dress code is smart attire and gowns (same as Castle).
Please note that Hatfield has a tradition of 'spooning' before the start of formal where everyone is encourged to bang their spoons against the table as loud as possible while the Senior Man fails to silence the room. This can last for several minutes and is very loud, if you would rather enter after this has taken place, please email castle.servicesmanager@durham.ac.uk and we will arrange for an alternative entrance time.
