Event Durham

The STFC HEP Summer School is aimed at UK-based experimental particle physics PhD students at the end of their first year of training. The object of the School is to give participants a good grounding in the basic theoretical ideas of the Standard Model.

The School consists of lectures covering Quantum Field Theory, Quantum Electrodynamics and Quantum Chromodynamics, the Standard Model and non-collider phenomenological topics (neutrino, dark matter, cosmology). In addition to these lectures, you will be set problems every day, which you will have time to complete each afternoon. You will then have the opportunity to go through them with a member of staff during daily tutorials.
