Membership Subscription

The Middle Common Room (MCR) is the hub of postgraduate student life in the College and provides many opportunities and events to enrich your student experience at Durham.  Paying the MCR levy enables students to use the MCR common room in Hatfield Cottage, a social and study space in the centre of Durham, to join all Clubs and Societies in College.  MCR members organise a wide rnage of events and activities for Hatfield postgraduates including research symposia, networking opportunities and social events as well as some JCR-run events.  The levy also offers the chance to participate in Hatfield sport, music, drama, volunteering, arts and much more.  You have the right to opt out of this charge if you do not wish to be a member of the MCR.  Students who opt out are still able to use College facilities eg library.  However non MCR members may be charged a higher price for MCR events and opportunities.

POSTGRADUATE ERASMUS STUDENTS

For those ERASMUS students studying postgraduate courses, membership of the MCR is £15 for each term of study.  Please contact the Hatfield MCR Treasurer to arrange payment.
