Fifty years ago next September, the golden class of Bede 1973 first assembled in the Little Theatre to be welcomed to the College and to Durham. We believe this to be an occasion that should be celebrated together, alongside our partners and Hild’s friends from our Durham days, and are hoping that many Bede men from that time will think likewise.
Accordingly, we are inviting you to join us in a 50th Anniversary Reunion Weekend. We also ask you to draw upon all of your networks to help us publicise this event. Please forward this message to, or let us know the contact details of, anyone who you believe might be eager to learn of our reunion.
The main event will be a formal dinner on Saturday 9th September, 2023
The price of the dinner is £40 per head inclusive of VAT. This includes
- Drinks Reception
- 3 Course Meal
- Coffee and Mints
- Half bottle wine per person (or soft drinks)
The meal will be held at Collingwood College. The College Bar will be open afterwards. Unfortunately, Hild-Bede College is unable to accept event bookings during the summer vacation.
Accommodation (plus breakfast) is available in Collingwood College (very close to the Bar!) on the evening of Friday and Saturday.

We shall be organising a tour of the Hild-Bede site on the afternoon of Saturday 9th, so you will be able to revisit the places of which so many of us have such fond memories. This may be the last chance you will have to see some of these before they are gone forever.
We can also help you and your close friends arrange smaller group get-togethers on Friday evening (8th Sept) (eg. one event is already being planned at Durham City Rugby Club).
