Formal Dinner
Castle MCR Members and their guests are warmly invited to the second Castle Formal of the year, taking place on Thursday, 23rd October 2025. This week’s Formal is a celebration of ✨Diwali✨ – the Festival of Light . While Diwali has its roots in religious tradition, its message is truly universal: it honours the triumph of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance.
Join us for an evening of warmth, joy, and togetherness as we celebrate this beautiful festival!
The Dress Code for the evening is smart attire and gowns. Please ensure you adhere to the dress code, feel free to email castle.mcr@durham.ac.uk if you have questions. If you are not appropriately dressed you may be refused entry and your ticket will not be refunded!
Drinks 🍷 will be available to purchase from the Undercroft Bar from 18:15 before dinner starts in the Great Hall at 7pm. Doors will close promptly at 7pm, so please be on time. ⏱️
Make sure to book onto the correct ticket type! If you book onto the wrong type your ticket may be cancelled and no refunds issued.
MCR members are entering the Hall through the side entrance of the Black Stairs.
