Two Course Christmas Buffet

A unique opportunity to experience a Christmas Day lunch at Durham Castle. The event includes a drinks reception, a festive hot and cold buffet served to your table followed by mince pies and hot beverages.

Christmas Day lunch bookings are subject to availability and sold on a first come first served basis, with initial priority given to residential students. The maximum capacity of the Great Hall for Christmas Day lunch is 192.

There is no dress code for this event.

There will be no fixed table plan for the Great Hall on Christmas Day. However, there will be an opportunity at a later date to reserve seats in the Great Hall should people wish to do so. Notification will be given when this becomes available.

Residential students (£25)will have an exclusive booking period from Friday 08 November.

Subject to availability booking will be available from Monday 25 November for:

Non-residential students (£25), Staff (£30 inc Vat) and up to one guest (£30 inc Vat)

All booking will close on Monday 02 December.

Plan for the Day

· 10:15 am: Guest arrival.

· 10:40 am: Guests invited to sit at their tables.

· 10:50 am: Festive speech by host Professor Gillian Hampden-Thompson.

· 11:00 am: Buffet service.

· 12:30 pm: Guests vacate the Great Hall.
