Alumni Reunion Formal Dinner
We are delighted to welcome alumni and their guests back to Stephenson and John Snow Colleges for a weekend of celebrations, reminiscing and making new memories!
For Stephenson alumni, kick-off your weekend on Saturday morning with a buffet lunch and refreshments in Stephenson Central. There will also be an opportunity to view our 25 Faces of Stephenson exhibition, curated by current students and featuring students, alumni and staff past and present, who have made a mark on our community over the last 25 years.
For John Snow alumni, the moment you arrive, we’ll welcome you with a relaxed brunch/lunch and refreshments in the Igloo Bar. As you mingle and reconnect, you’ll be able to explore our John Snow: Past, Present, and Futures showcase—a vibrant display of stories from alumni and current students, packed with photographs, memories, and Snow nostalgia. It’s the perfect opportunity to relive the stories, laughter, and spirit that have defined John Snow for a quarter of a century.
In the afternoon, we will gather at Stephenson College to reignite some of that longstanding friendly rivalry through some Snow vs Stephenson matches, including football, netball, rounders, darts, pool and table tennis! The bar will be open throughout the afternoon.
On Saturday evening we will host a fantastic three course Formal dinner in the Hub at John Snow College in the evening, followed by a pub quiz and karaoke in Stephenson Central afterwards!
Complete your visit with a visit down memory lane to Queen’s Campus in Stockton on Sunday morning, or join us on a morning cruise on the Wear on the Prince Bishop River Cruiser
Whether it has been one or twenty five years since you were at John Snow and Stephenson, we cannot wait to welcome you and your friends back to celebrate you and our wonderful Colleges.

It is just under ten minutes’ walk between both Colleges.
Getting here by road
Durham city centre is only two miles from the A1(M). Leave the motorway at Junction 62 on the A690 Durham - Sunderland road and follow signs to Durham City Centre.
Free on-site parking at Stephenson College is available on both days for attendees.
Public transport
There are several express coach services daily from most major cities. Durham is well served by both regional express services and the local bus network. From the city bus station - a short walk from the railway station - a bus service runs every 15 minutes past Stephenson College (the stop is on South Road).
The Park & Ride bus service runs from 07.00 – 19.00 on Saturdays into the city every 10 minutes from Howlands Park and Ride, just adjacent to Stephenson College’s car park. The Park and Ride bus service does not run on Sundays.
Getting here by train
Several train operators offer direct and regular routes to Durham Station, including London and Edinburgh.
A taxi will take you from the station to any College in about 5 minutes and you can walk to the city centre in 10 minutes.

Stephenson Central and The Igloo bars will be open from 18.00 for pre-drinks.

Dress Code
There is no dress code for the Reunion activities, with the exception of the Reunion Dinner on Saturday, when the guests are encouraged to wear smart attire (e.g. a lounge suit or a cocktail dress).
If John Snow alumni would like to wear a gown for the dinner, you are more than welcome to do so! John Snow College does have a limited collection of spare gowns if you wish to loan one.

Accommodation
If you require accommodation, John Snow College is able to provide up to 100 rooms for Stephenson and John Snow attendees from 4-5 July. Rooms are priced for one or two nights for alumni and guests on a bed and breakfast basis.

You are also welcome to organise your own accommodation in the City.

Photographs and publications
Photographs will be taken at the event. If you do not wish to be photographed, please let our event photographer know on the day and indicate this when prompted when completing your booking.
Attending a reunion is a wonderful opportunity to meet old friends and to make new ones. We would love to let our guests know that you were there by making a note of your attendance in some of our printed and online publications, such as our Year in Review. If you would prefer for your name not to be included, please indicate this when prompted when completing your booking.

Bookings may be cancelled by emailing stephenson.events@durham.ac.uk and will be refunded less a £20 processing fee up to two weeks before the Reunion. Unfortunately, we will not be able to offer any refunds after Friday 19 June 2026.
