The idea of “Dining in the Dark” was first established in the 1990s and a permanent restaurant in Zurich was first opened in 1999 by a blind priest with the aim of conveying the experience of blindness to sighted customers.

Students who attend this event will be blindfolded whilst eating their food in order to gain a very small insight into understanding the challenges faced by those with visual impairments.The event aims to prompt meaningful conversation about accessibility, inclusion, and the importance of accommodating diverse needs within society.
