The Summer Ball committee warmly invites you to mark the close of this academic year and beginning of summer at The Blossom Ball on Thursday 12th June 2025.
One of the final and most unforgettable nights of the South College calendar, The Blossom Ball is a celebration of the year, a chance to come together and make memories that’ll last long after the term ends! As the sun sets on another incredible year, join us for an evening of floral elegance, packed with all-night entertainment 🌸
The evening will start with pre-drinks in the Nest, with a selection of themed, summery cocktails available before heading to the stunning Derwent Manor, transformed into a vibrant outdoor fairground with dazzling indoor spaces for entertainment. At the venue, you’ll be greeted with a welcome drink; take your pick from bottled beer, non-alcoholic punch, or our personal favourite, anAperol Spritz 🍹
What the expect at the venue:
Outdoors
🎡 Four Rides - for the thrill-seekers, take to the sky with the Freakout and Star Flyer, and for the more grounded amongst you we have the classic Waltzer and Dodgems on offer
🏏 Croquet Lawns - capture the charm of a chic garden party with a leisurely game of croquet, perfect for sipping a drink and soaking up the summer evening
🍩 Food Trucks - keep yourself fuelled through the night with a mix of favourites from burgers to hot doughnuts
Indoors
🕹️ Retro Room - one room turns into an 80’s arcade, with air hockey, dance machines, a silent disco, and much more
🎶 Music Room - the second becomes the heart of the ball with performances from three incredible live bands plus South College’s own DJ Luke to keep us dancing through the night
♣️ Poker on the Balcony - try your luck and watch the excitement unfold below on the balcony overlooking the dance floor, housing poker tables and its own bar
📸 Capturing the Night will be talented photographers and a photo booth to create your own keep sakes, not to mention a caricaturist
But the night doesn’t stop there…after the ball, we return to college for a late-night silent disco, followed by a walk up Observatory Hill to watch the sunrise. 🌅 And did we forget to mention, a survivor's breakfast for the morning after the ball.
