You’re Invited to Grey College’s ‘Summer Solstice’ Formal. Grey SCR members and their guests are warmly invited to join us for a special celebration to mark the end of the academic year.
Come together for an enchanting evening featuring:
- A delicious three-course dinner
- Nature-themed decorations to welcome the summer season
- Live acoustic music to set a relaxed and celebratory mood
- Presentation of the Grey College Principal Awards by Professor Sonia Virdee
This will be a chance to gather as a community, celebrate the year’s achievements, and bid a fond farewell to our graduating finalists before the summer break.
We hope to see many of you there to make this a memorable close to the year!

Starter
Courgette and sun touched tomato arancini with romesco sauce, rocket and parmesan (v)
Main
Slow cooked pulled lamb shoulder with Moroccan spices, lemon coriander cous cous, crispy shallots and pomegranate
Or
Harissa aubergine steak with Moroccan spices, lemon coriander cous cous, crispy shallots and pomegranate (v)
Dessert
Double chocolate fudge cake with ice cream
The cost is £17.38 for SCR members, and members can order wine with their dinner at the time of booking.
Pre-dinner drinks in the SCR from 6.30pm, Formal to begin at 7pm.

Bookings and Cancellations
Bookings close at 9am on Monday 16 June 2025 or when the formal sells-out, whichever is sooner.
Places can be cancelled until bookings close at 9am on 16 June 2025. After this time, no cancellation or refund will be possible. To cancel a place before this time, please log-in to your Ecommerce account and cancel it, and then please email grey.college@durham.ac.uk so the payment can be refunded.
