Membership Subscription

Please note: If you are on an exchange to South College, please choose the levy that reflects how many terms you will spend with us; if you are a Postgraduate or Integrated Masters student you will be required to pay your Postgraduate Levy at the beginning of each year of your postgraduate course or at the beginning of your fourth year of an Integrated Masters. While JCR membership is optional, we strongly encourage all students at South to join the JCR so to make the most of your time at Durham. The fee goes towards the running of the JCR, including its sports teams, societies, events, and all other activities. By paying your fee, you will be providing the student body with funds to deliver everything mentioned above and as a JCR you will be able to participate in College clubs and societies as well as opportunities to engage in leadership opportunities within the JCR. The JCR membership also provides subsidised tickets for events and activities which require an additional fee. Please note that there could be additional fees for joining clubs and societies. If you are unable to pay the upfront cost of the JCR membership fee, there are a number of bursaries and funds provided by the College to help with these costs. This includes the JCR Levy Fund, which can directly pay for you JCR membership.
