Durham University Sculling Camps 2023 - Junior Performance Camp (Ages 13-16)

calendar 09:30 Sunday, 06 August 2023 to 15:30 Friday, 11 August 2023
The Junior Performance Camp was introduced in 2007 as a residential course aimed at junior scullers of 14-18 years. Due to popular demand, we have split the group by age across two weeks with this being the camp for 13-16 year-olds.

The majority of the camp focuses on technical sculling sessions on the water in singles as well as video analysis and feedback from DUBC coaching team. In addition, several sessions during the week are devoted to land training, including: ergo technique, strength and conditioning, core strength, nutrition and flexibility. The camp may also involve sessions in crew boats.

Based on the River Wear and using our state of the art indoor rowing tank and ergo gallery, this camp includes coaching from students athletes and the DUBC coaching team.

Athletes attending the Performance Camps are encouraged to bring their own equipment (your boat and blades will be checked and optimised for you whilst on the camp), although there are a small number of sculing boats and blades that can be borrowed and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Please contact us after booking a place to enquire about boat hire.
