St Aidan's JCR CIO Levy
Wednesday, 14 September 2022 to Monday, 31 July 2023The JCR is a independent student run charity that runs events and sports for, as well as representing the interests of, its members. The JCR can only do this through the JCR Levy. The JCR levy is a one-off donation to the charity that makes you a member of the JCR and entitles you to:
- FREE Freshers' Week tickets (Excluding Newcastle night)
- Join a JCR funded sports team (St Aidan's Rugby, Football, Netball, Rowing, Hockey... etc)
- Discounted tickets to JCR balls and social events
- Access JCR funding for small projects applications
- Join a JCR committee
- Start a JCR funded society
- Lead a JCR funded society
- Run in JCR elections
- Vote in JCR elections
Postgraduate Students Levy:
Postgraduate students can also join the JCR to access all of the above.

Erasmus and exchange students can also join the JCR to access all of the above.

*Reduced fee available for students only completing 2 or less terms in Durham.
Building community and collective safe spaces:
The JCR levy subsidises our event costs as well as other things that are important to us e.g. welfare and sexual health supplies which we dsitribute to students. We are an almost entirely crowd funded charity which means we can only put on all of the balls and activities that make Durham and St Aidans' unique if Aidanites join the JCR and pay the levy.
The JCR levy for undergraduates lasts for your entire period of undergraduate study whether that be a 3 or 4 year course.
